Press and contact

For journalists, legislators and their staff, legal experts, partner organizations and supporters.

About the campaign

Right to Remove is an independent advocacy campaign for affordable, constitutional remedies for people harmed by false and malicious online publications. It launched in October 2026 and is focused on California's 2027 legislative session. It is not a law firm and not yet a registered nonprofit.

  • What we propose: a fast, low cost court process to determine whether a specific statement is false, a ban on charging people to remove content about them, a clear path to identify anonymous posters in supported cases, and strong protections for opinion, journalism and whistleblowing. Read the proposals.
  • Where it stands: no bill has been introduced. We are seeking legal review and reaching out to legislators and committee staff.
  • Stories: people who share their experiences with us can choose whether to speak with journalists. We connect reporters only with people who have agreed.
